This program requires owners of commercial buildings 20,000 square feet or larger to annually report whole-building energy use data. Building owner reporting will be phased in overtime, by square footage, with reporting requirements for 100,000 square feet and above beginning in 2023.
By measuring and tracking energy use in buildings, building owners and tenants can better understand how their energy performance compares to similar buildings and identify opportunities to cut energy waste.
